Responsibilities

~"All property, real and personal, within the jurisdiction of this state, not expressly exempted, shall be subject to taxation” per 211.1 of the General Property Tax Act. It is the assessing department’s duty to fairly and equitably assess all property within the township on an annual basis.

Forms

You may find forms for your needs here. Forms that are provided may be downloaded. Upon completion, forms must be returned to the Township, via mail or hand delivery, faxes will not and cannot be accepted.

Assessing Department Personnel

Assessors must be certified by the State Assessors Board in Lansing. The State Assessors Board (SAB) certifies individuals at Level 1, 2, 3, or 4, based on education, experience and examination. Level 4 is the highest rating and the most difficult to achieve. Municipalities are required to have an Assessor whose certification is at least equivalent to the SAB's standard based on valuation and complexity of the unit of government. Mundy Township is required to have a Level 3 Assessor.

We are here to help you understand the process of assessing. If you have questions that are not answered, please call the department during normal business hours.
