Assessors must be certified by the State Tax Commission in Lansing. New classifications were implemented at the start of 2011. The classifications used by the State Tax Commission are Michigan Certified Assessing Officer, Michigan Master Assessing Officer, Michigan Advanced Assessing Officer and Limited Michigan Certified Assessing Officer. All levels require continuing education which includes mandatory classes and some electives. To read the specifics and much more we suggest you visit the State Tax Commision portion of the state website at mi.gov. (Clicking on the link will take you out of the Charter Township of Mundy website.)
We are here to help you understand the process of assessing. If you have questions that are not answered, please call the department during normal business hours.
Township Assessing Department Extensions are: 221, 244, & 245.
