Information About Your Taxes

County Operating Taxes were changed in 2005. One-third (1/3 or 33.33%) of the County Taxes were due on the 2005 Summer Tax Bill. Two-thirds (2/3 or 66.66%) were collected on the 2006 Summer Tax Bill. As of the 2007 tax year 100% will be collected on the Summer Tax Bill.

The school systems of: Carman-Ainsworth, Grand Blanc, and Swartz Creek collect one hundred percent (100%) of school millage on the Summer Tax Bill.  Linden Community Schools collect one-half (1/2 or 50%) on the Summer Tax Bill. 

Lake Fenton Community Schools collects the State Education School Tax (SET).  SET is collected on Summer Tax Bill per State law, P.A. 243 of 2002  Refer above for County Tax changes that were initiated in 2005.

Lake Fenton Community Schools collects one hundred percent (100%) on the Winter Tax Bill, less SET.  All local unit and the remaining County millages are collected. 

Final collection for all real estate, personal and qualified taxes for the year 2007 at the Township level was February 29, 2008 or postmarked as such.  Payment must now be made at the Genesee County Treasurer's Office with checks payable to them.  Their mailing address is:  1101 Beach St., Flint, MI 48502/ Ph# 810-257-3054.  Please contact their office for payment figures with intrest and penalties due which will be available as of March 17, 2008.  To pay in person before March 17, 2008 at their office they will require a copy of the tax bill.

Please be aware that this Post Office Box closes at the end of each tax season and does not reopen until the following season.  It was/is intended for Tax Payments Only during regular tax seasons.  All other mail will be Returned to Sender.
